I am a potter in New York specializing in carved pottery, porcelain pieces and raku/horsehair firings. My trademark is the design of carved footed pieces. I also often use Chinese words, Art Deco designs and things found in nature in my carvings.

- Georgia boy turned New Yorker. I found my love for making and carving pottery--especially porcelain pieces--from an American Indian named Sue Bear in Georgia. It has changed my life--all for the best. I love to throw on a wheel, carve things from nature, Chinese words and seashore images into my pottery and experiment with porcelain. I also love to carve feet from the heavy bottoms of most of my pieces. Sue Bear got angry with me because I was afraid of going too deeply into my clay as I was opening pieces. So she insisted I take private lessons (from HER)to learn to carve out feet. I learned that and more and came to love carving. So now I say "I throw in order to carve." Thanks "Sweet Sue!"
